Meine Passion ist (nicht nur) Wein

Hallo, ich heiße Esther Mercedes Jürgens (Weinakademikerin) und habe Vino Vistas 2014 in Montalcino, Heimat des berühmten Rotweins Brunello gegründet. Ich habe dort maßgeschneiderte Brunello Weintouren und private Verkostungen durchgeführt sowie für einige Weingüter gearbeitet. Eine winterliche Nebensaison arbeitete ich auf einem Weingut in Chile und eine andere im renommierten Suryalila Yoga Retreat Centre in Andalusien.

Aber Vino Vistas war nicht mein erstes Unternehmen. In meinem „vorheringen Leben“ galt mein Fokus dem Tanz und ich hatte über 10 Jahre eine Salsa Tanzschule in Hamburg.

Von daher ist es vielleicht nicht ganz so verwunderlich, dass ich 2019 ich die Hügel der Toskana für ein Leben im sonnigen Andalusien eintauschte. Es lockten Suryalila und die faszinierenden Sherry Bodegas. Es war großartig, in zwei sehr unterschiedliche Welten eintauchen zu dürfen: die des Sherry und die des Yoga. Beides zu verbinden war die logische Konsequenz und so entstand der Retreat: Vino & Vinyasa.

Und dann war plötzlich nichts mehr so wie vorher. Schweren Herzens habe ich Südspanien verlassen und zog im Herbst 2020 zurück nach Deutschland. Natürlich in die südlichste Ecke, in die Weinbauregion Baden. Nach einem weiteren Lockdown – Winter und Frühling arbeite ich endlich wieder auf einem Weingut und freue mich, meine Wein-Leidenschaft erneut teilen zu können.

Wann immer es meine Zeit erlaubt, erkunde ich die Weine und Weingüter in meiner neuen Heimat. Es locken spannende Tropfen im Kaiserstuhl, dem Markgräflerland, dem Breisgau und der Ortenau.

Die weltweiten Veränderungen haben mir gezeigt, dass es lebensnotwendig ist, meine positive Lebenseinstellung beizubehalten, geduldig zu sein sowie Zufriedenheit zu leben. Momentan bin ich dabei, meinen alten Blog neu zu gestalten, teilweise auch inhaltlich und Post für Post neu zu veröffentlichen. Ich hoffe, meine Geschichten über das Leben innerhalb und außerhalb der Weinwelt bereiten Freude und regen vielleicht sogar zum Nachdenken an.

 My Passion is (not only) Wine

Hi, my name is Esther Mercedes Jürgens and I founded Vino Vistas in the year 2014 in Montalcino, Tuscany home of the prestigious red wine Brunello. As holder of the WSET Diploma, there I offered bespoke Brunello wine tours and exclusive tasting as well as working with several wineries. Escaping the off season winters I worked in Chile and later in Andalusia at the famous Suryalila Yoga Retreat Centre.

But Vino Vistas was not my first professional undertaking. In my „first Life“ dance was my main focus. For over 10 years I had a Salsa Dance school in Hamburg, Germany.

So it might not be such a surprise that in 2019 I exchanged my life in the rolling hills of Tuscany for one in sunny Andalusia. Yoga at Suryalila and the fascinating Sherry Bodegas were beckoning. I enjoyed delving into the world of Sherry, while deepening my Yoga practice. Pairing wine and yoga seemed the logical consequence, and so the Wine and Yoga Retreat Vino & Vinyasa was born.

Alas, since then the world has changed dramatically. With a heavy heart I left the south of Spain and moved to my home country Germany in the fall of 2020. After another winter  and spring of lock-down I found work at a winery, again sharing my passion for wine. Whenever possible, I am educating my palate, happily exploring the amazing whites and reds from the surrounding wine growing areas: Kaiserstuhl, Breisgau, Markgräflerland and Ortenau.

On a more personal level I am dedicated to maintaining and sharing my happy and positive attitude in view of the changing world. Right now I am re-issuing my old blog posts, some of them altered, some of them new. I hope my stories about life inside and outside the wine world will give you joy and perhaps even a little food for thought.
